Ebay RSS
Friday, June 30, 2006, 14:08 - Technology
Finally Ebay have provided an RSS feed to auction information.

Here's mine (empty at the moment):

I used http://p3k.org/rss/?setup=true to syndicate the feed onto this blog entry.

This will be really useful for people wanting to advertise/list autions on thier own websites - like me.

Just need to get a couple of items listed to try it out.

Take a look at the picture? What do you see?

"Research has shown that young children cannot identify the intimate couple because they do not have prior memory associated with such a scenario.

Children see nine dolphins.

This is a test to determine if you already have a corrupted mind. If it is hard for you to find the dolphins within six seconds, your mind is indeed corrupted."

... it's been a morning of interesting emails.

Apply for a preimership or championship managers job
Tuesday, June 27, 2006, 11:11 - Entertainment
Have you read the email that's been doing the rounds about a guy who applied for a job as a manager at Middlesbrough Football Club?

A classic wind up - he wanted the job based on his championship manager 2005 experience - yes the PC game. The FC replied with an equally comical "no", stating that they though he would be poached by a big European club.

Here it is - his CV is included too:

Schema Crawler - fixed
Wednesday, June 21, 2006, 20:47 - Technology
I was having trouble with Schema Crawler here.

It was fixed quite quickly, somehow I had Java version 1.5 installed in Program Files and because the PATH variable and JAVA_HOME were referencing version 1.5 of Java - Schema Crawler wouldn't work.

I only found this by running this
java -version

I've got a few output files from it which I'll post tomorrow.

Schema Crawler
Wednesday, June 21, 2006, 17:11 - Technology
Hmmm,

SchemaCrawler sounds like a really useful tool:
schemacrawler.sourceforge.net

However I can't get it to work on my PC, here's what I get:

C:SchemaCrawler-3.7-distribSchemaCrawler-3.7-distrib>java -jar Schemacrawler-3.7.jar -a
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NullPointerException
at schemacrawler.OptionsParser.parseCommandLine(OptionsParser.java:120)
at schemacrawler.Main.doMain(Main.java:101)
at schemacrawler.Main.main(Main.java:82)

C:SchemaCrawler-3.7-distribSchemaCrawler-3.7-distrib>echo %JAVA_HOME%
C:j2sdk1.4.2_09

Have to look into this further.

I'm wanting to monitor changes in schema between versions and if the schema are created via different methods.

*Update*
I fixed this, click -
